Now that even the kids are confused, I'm going to explain once.

During a mission two days ago, I was exposed to an EM field. On top of a rather nasty shock it also scrambled my powers so badly that it knocked them off-line for the next few days. As a defense mechanism, my body shifted to what I call my primary alternative form. Until the effects wear off, I'm powerless and cannot revert back to my normal body.

Yes, I am currently the strange redheaded woman seen in the halls. I'm still me, obviously, just packaged a little different. If the juxtaposition is too odd, for now, you can all me Nora if you need. That was the name of the friend this body is based off of.

In order to avoid more of... well, all of this, for one day only, I will answer any questions about shapeshifting, living in other forms, and whatever you want to ask. In return, everyone comes to terms with the fact that sometimes I'm other people for awhile. Deal?

So, does your brain change as well, or just the outside?

Depends. There are two types of shapeshifting. The first is surface. I look like you, but it's all on top. My bio-metrics won't match, I don't have awareness of anything covered, like a scar or a mangled toe.

The second type is true shapeshifting. The second I have your DNA, I can replicate you exactly, right down to blood type, genetic markers, everything. Better, if I'm able to physically touch you, I have a hyper-awareness of your body, so I can tell things you normally can't even feel like scars, tattoos, implants, medical procedures, etc.

With that type of shapeshifting, function follows form. So while I'm still myself mentally, I'm impacted by all the physical elements that inform our brains and influence our personalities. I'm still myself, but a slightly modified version of myself.

So if you copied me, you could have either two eyes because that is the baseline for my DNA, or one because you can tell the scar tissue?

I could do either. The other thing is that I can... tinker with a form in either case as I feel like.

Does that include powers? Because I kinda want to try that.

No. I can copy the appearance of some powers. For example, I could copy Logan's claws but they couldn't cut anything. I could copy Sefton's tail, but it was barely move. I can look like Frost in her diamond form but I wouldn't be much harder than normal skin and certainly not diamond.

okay but mine aren't sharper than any other claws - if you copied mine it'd pretty much be like having them right?

Yes. Normal tooth, claw and bone configurations work just as well for me, and I can do a number of tricks to enhance strength, agility, senses, etc, but they are within physical limitations, not x-gene enhancements.

Just to be clear. What boundaries are you placing on these enquiries? Because I have several but some are more invasive then others.

If you ask me something clearly not appropriate or deliberately offensive in a public setting, I will ridicule you. Heartily. Usually involved your physical appearance, the dubious nature of your parents marital status when you were conceived and very possibly something about your mother's weight or her work as a sex worker.

Is your stipulation merely about the public forum or is it that you do not wish any extremely probing questions at all?

I can contain my scientific and medical curiosity if it would be unwelcome, obviously.

My initial question was merely if you could make extra organs that are stable when removed.

how about...'after market modifications', as it were? Like, could you do that weird luminescing that my prosthetic was doing the other day?

That one I'd need artificial light for. I can make things look inhuman or metallic to an extent, but if I wanted bioluminescence, I'd need to inject the right chemicals and move them around.
